This month we would like to recognize Elijah Davenport, the Chief Engineer at the Horton Hotel for demonstrating Aileron’s core value of “Blue-collar Mentality”.
Following Hurricane Helene, Elijah found himself in an extremely difficult situation. For four days, he was trapped at his home without any cell service or way to communicate. Despite the isolation, Elijah’s commitment to his work never faltered. Each day, he drove down his road, attempting to reach his job and doing what he could to ensure he could make it in. Along the way, he used his own tools and determination to clear multiple trees from the road, carving a path with his own hands. Elijah was able to make it to downtown Boone and handle the urgent issues at the Horton.
Elijah’s tenacity and blue-collar work ethic were invaluable during that challenging time. His efforts not only demonstrated his dedication to his role but also played a vital part in keeping the hotel’s operations running smoothly in the aftermath of the hurricane. Elijah’s story is a testament to the resilience, dedication, and the blue-collar attitude that keeps our team strong, even under the most difficult circumstances. Thank you, Elijah, for going above and beyond!
